Stephanie Barganz, one of the agency's owners, says, "With me, it all started when I took a job many years ago with an established non-profit here in Madison. I was only going to stay for 6 months – until I found a different job – but I ended up staying for 5 years. I learned many valuable lessons working for a non-profit. The most important lesson that I learned is that there are real people and real problems behind the numbers. It was a lesson I will never forget."

Adopt-A-Family – The 2009 holiday season we adopted a family through the Salvation Army. Times are tough and everyone is cutting the fat from their expenses and budgeting more carefully. We thought, “If we’re cutting back, what about the people that need to cut back, but don’t have any fat in their budgets to cut out?” Doing this means that it’s one less things for parents to worry about if we can buy some items for their kids. We feel that the holidays should be a time to enjoy, not a time to worry. Stephanie Barganz
I am a Member of AICPA and WICPA, and have authored several articles for their publications.
Stephanie Barganz (Member, Editor, Contributor), John Bodilly, Mike Konicek — Wisconsin Institute of CPAs (WICPA) and American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). Tasha Chambers
American Marketing Association — I joined the AMA because I feel that it’s important for everyone to know how to market themselves; not just people who work in a marketing department. The AMA offers seminars and workshops and is also a source for the top magazines and journals for members use to develop their skills. I have been the VP of Finance/Treasurer for the last 4 years of the AMA-Madison Chapter and will continue to promote the personal and professional development of its members. Barb Giss
Awana – Awana Clubs International is another organization that has been a long-standing part of my life. For the past 22 years, my husband and I have participated in club leadership in a variety of capacities. For two hours every Tuesday evening at Hillcrest Bible Church in Oregon, over one hundred children meet to have fun learning Scripture and playing games. Stephanie Barganz
I am a member of the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative. Palladium Group is the global leader in helping organizations execute their strategies by making better decisions. Stephanie Barganz
It all started when I took a job many years ago with an established non-profit here in Madison. I was only going to stay for 6 months – until I found a different job – but I ended up staying for 5 years. I learned many valuable lessons working for a non-profit. The most important lesson that I learned is that there are real people and real problems behind the numbers. It was a lesson I will never forget. In addition, I am a Leadership Greater Madison graduate, of which I learned even more about our community and the challenges it faces. This is why I am so committed to give back to the community. I participate in both professional and personal organizations that reflect my interests. Professionally, I have been involved with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) organization for nearly 20 years – I served on the Board including a term as President and continue to be on the Senior Advisory Committee. I was Co-Chair of a State SHRM Conference and State SHRM Board Treasurer. I participate in the women’s LEAP program. I am a Member of AICPA and WICPA, and have authored several articles for their publications. I am a member of the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative, National Association of Certified Valuation Analyst and Certified Fraud & Forensic Analyst. I am an Executive Women’s Golf Member. I co-founded Bodilly’s Women’s Hour of Power Networking Group.
My personal interests reflect a position as President of Folklore Village for several years, Dane County Housing Authority Personnel Committee Chair, MATC Business Advisory Committee member, Past Community Shares Advisory committee member, United Way MAP volunteer and current President of Work Plus, Inc. I continue to work with several non profits and provide pro bono consulting to them. PAINT THE TOWN BLUE

Deerfield Community Center – I began coaching soccer 10 years ago at the center and have stayed involved over the years. I’ve been a volunteer at the food pantry, coaching and concession stands. Helping in the food pantry has been very rewarding, I like having my kids volunteer to make them think about helping others. I set up their original books on QuickBooks and helped implement an accounting system. I have been the paid accountant and volunteered many hours maintaining and improving their accounting system. Barb Giss
Embroiders Guild of America, Inc. – Hand-worked embroidery has always fascinated me, and the Madison Area Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America, Inc. has been instrumental in teaching me more about stitchery from all over the world. The opportunity to learn techniques with a group of like-minded enthusiasts has been great. Local and nationally-acclaimed teachers present programs and workshops, exhibitions of finished pieces for the general public, stitching items for charities such as the Ronald McDonald House, and opportunities to stitch together are all facets of the guild. Stephanie Barganz
I am an Executive Women’s Golf Member. The EWGA's (Executive Women's Golf Association) mission is connecting women to learn, play and enjoy golf for business and for fun. Stephanie Barganz
My personal interests reflect a position as President of the Board for Folklore Village for several years. Folklore Village is a nationally recognized folk arts and culture center dedicated to enriching lives through time-honored traditions. Brian English
HospiceCare, Inc. – My aunt had been working there to expand the garden areas and I volunteered to help her. It was satisfying to be able to help because many of the patients and family members walk through these areas. Brian English
Ironman, WI – For the last three years I have been volunteering at one of the water stations for the bicyclists in the WI Ironman. It’s a great way for me to help locally and it’s amazing to see what these people go through to get to the point of competing in an Ironman. Stephanie Barganz

Leadership Greater Madison (LGM) is an advanced leadership training program for qualified individuals who live and work in the Dane County area. Stephanie Barganz
(Participant) Liberal Education and America’s Promise (LEAP) in Wisconsin is part of the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin, a ten-year plan for the UW System. The Growth Agenda calls for higher education to act as a catalyst for educational, social, civic, and economic transformation. The agenda intends to move the UW System forward into the multicultural democracy that characterizes 21st century America. Tasha Chambers
MARC Foundation of Dane County, Inc. — For the past year, I have been the treasurer and a board member. Their purpose is to receive gifts and bequests to provide an Endowment Fund for MARC. Madison Area Rehabilitation Centers, Inc (MARC) is an organization that provides employment, day services and personal care for adults with developmental disabilities in Dane county. I have also been a chair person, board member and treasurer for about one year and didn’t know very much about the organization when I took these roles. Throughout the year, I have come to realize how important these services are. This program helps adults with developmental disabilities become productive members of society. They hold jobs, socialize and can participate in a variety of other services like music, art, communication and exercise. Stephanie Barganz
MATC Business Advisory Committee member. Michelle Molzahn
Monthly volunteer at Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM’s) food pantry. Christine Luchi
I was part of a committee with the Monroe Noon Optimists that planned a fundraiser for childhood cancer research. It was called Canapés, Chocolate & Champagne. We raised about $5,000 and a great time was had by all.
Last September as part of the Cruise Holidays annual convention I held a pajama drive in Monroe. I collected about 150 pairs of pajamas for children who normally don’t have pajamas. Evidently children mostly wear out their pajamas so they are not donated to charity liked other used clothing. Vicki Spindler
SCA – I am a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), an international living history organization that is dedicated to researching and recreating the arts and skills of pre-17th century Europe. I went to my first SCA event 6 years ago and was hooked. It gave me an outlet for my interest in history, as well as the ability to learn more about things I’ve been interested in since I was a kid, like costuming, sewing and other “fiber arts” and the pageantry of courts and lords and ladies.
I truly became active in the SCA five years ago when the South Central Library System had a medieval theme for their summer program. Part of the educational function of the SCA is to not only educate ourselves, but also others though demos and presentations that we put on for schools, Boy and Girl Scouts, etc. We did a lot of library demos that summer, and I found that part of the organization to be particularly interesting. The next year I took over as the Demo Coordinator for the Barony of Jararvellir, the Madison, WI branch of the SCA. I am also the deputy treasurer for the Barony and am the treasurer for a fund account of the Kingdom of Northshield, which is a regional group of the SCA that encompasses Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, North and South Dakota and part of Canada. St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church – My family and I belong to St. Pius’ in Cambridge and have been active in the parish for many years. My husband is on the church finance committee and I set up QuickBooks for them and help with the payroll and budget. We also participate in the annual turkey dinner held each October. My husband sells tickets and my daughters and I volunteer to waitress. It’s a lot of fun to help out and I love the joy on everyone’s faces as they enjoy the meal. Christine Luchi
St Victors Fall Festival – My husband and I are in charge of a spaghetti dinner for 400 people as a fundraiser. We did this in October last year and will be doing it in October this year. It is held in the St Victor’s School gym in Monroe, WI. We really enjoy cooking together and with friends and then watching the people enjoy the meal. The fact that we are raising a couple of thousand dollars to help the church is a bonus.
As part of the St Victor’s Fall Festival in October this year my husband and I are donating a brunch for up to 8 people to be held at our house. My husband cooks waffles, frittatas, German apple pancakes, Grand Marnier French Toast and other specialties. We are also doing appetizers and desserts for 16 people to be done at their house or ours. Stephanie Barganz
United Way (Executive Program Volunteer) John Bodilly
Wisconsin Investment Partners – I have been a co-manager since 2000 in the Wisconsin Investment Partners group. This angel investment group invests in mostly Wisconsin-based biotech companies to provide seed money and support for these start-ups. This interested me and I thought it was a great way to invest in Wisconsin’s future. I’ve been a board member for 5 years of P2SI, a business that the Wisconsin Investment Partners invested in, that makes high grade carbon nanofiber for the defense and aerospace markets. Stephanie Barganz

I attended the "Party on the Lake" reception and silent auction at Bishops Bay Country Club in June of this year to benefit Infinite Boundaries. Infinite Boundaries organizes retreats for women recovering from breast cancer, and provides financial assistance to women who cannot afford the registration fees. Breast cancer recovery is a personal issue in my family — this event was a emotional and dynamic event attended by a motivated group of women (and men!).
